20 Months

Here are some picture of Jenna on Saturday @ 20 months!

It's hard to belive that in just a few months she'll be turning 2. She has been busy adding to her vocabulary, and figuring out how to jump. She has also started to sas back over the past month when we ask her to do things.....it's hard not to laugh at her when she's doing it. Somehow she apparently decide she was a teenager over night. Even tho she doesn't say much she sure gets her point across!

Singing....

Andrew has been singing 2 songs over and over for at least the past month, if not longer. We finally captured him on video....Enjoy!

The days of the week:

We're not perfect:

Daddy's little helpers

We bought a shelf to help store some of the kid's toys so they aren't laying on the floor of the play room, so of course we had to assemble it right away. Bruce had all kinds of 'help'....

Amazingly even with all the help, the shelf was assembled in a very short time (less than an hour), and no one was injured (including the shelf!). Hey you never know what's going to happen when you give kids screwdrivers! :)

Clifford!

The kids and I went to the Children's museum on Presidents day. Even tho we got there early it was still pretty packed. I think that everyone wanted to see the new Clifford the big red dog exhibit. We went to see Clifford 1st....the look on Jenna's face when we walked into the exhibit was priceless. I think we spent close to an hour in that exhibit, which is much longer than the kids attention spans typically last. Here's a picture of the kids playing in one of the area's in the Clifford exhibit (Mary Musical corner).
The kids had PJ day at daycare on Friday. They both seemed to think that it was pretty cool to wear their PJ's. We also had Jenna's re-check for her double ear infection on Friday - everything has cleared up (yea!).

We hope that everyone had a great Valentine's day weekend - we did!

Hot Air Affair

Hudson held their annual Hot Air Affair hot air balloon festival this past weekend....yes, we live in a town that has a hot air balloon festival in the middle of winter. We went to the school early on Saturday in hopes that they would be launching, but they didn't. Then we headed back over to the school on Saturday afternoon just to see if they'd launch, but they didn't (it was too windy). So instead we visited Bruce and a few of the other church lady husbands at the KC food booth (they were running it). The kids enjoyed cheese curds, mini chocolate chip cookies, and kettle corn. After we got our fix of fair type food, we headed back home. Sunday morning the 1st thing Andrew asked after he woke up was if we could go see the balloons....so we quickly got everyone dressed and out the door. The 3rd time was the charm - the balloons launched! It was really awesome to see, and Andrew loved being able to get really close to the balloons, and watch them fill up. Jenna wasn't so sure at first because the burners, and fans are so noisy, but after a while she got used to it, and seemed to enjoy watching all the commotion. They had some cool balloons - one that was shaped like a duck, one that had a big fish on it, and the last balloon that they inflated was a giant (105') bear. It was huge!

Here are some pics:

A few of the balloons (there were probably 30-40)

We spent a lot of time outside on Sunday, which was awesome. At the moment it appears like it may have been the last time to play in the snow (I know, wishful thinking). Due to the warm temps, and rain, we don't have any snow left.

Here are the kids playing in their snow fort (which is now melted):

Here's a pic of Andrew enjoying his new 'nail gun'. He insists on wearing his safety glasses when playing with it - it's cute.

What a week!

Last week didn't start or end well for us..... All the birthday excitement must have gotten to Andrew because he woke up on Monday (1/26) with a temp, so Andrew and I stayed home Monday. He was acting fine, just running a temp. He was back at daycare on Tuesday. Jenna stayed home on Thursday with Bruce. Her nose was running like it was a faucet, and she was also running a temp. We chalked it up to teething (she has an eye tooth starting to break thru)....in the wee morning hours on Friday she decided to spike a temperature (104+) so we brought her in to the Dr. on Friday. She has a double ear infection - poor baby. The Dr. was also concerned about the high temperature so they drew blood (that was horrible), and gave her a shot of antibiotics (also horrible). The Dr. thought she may have a bacterial blood infection so that is why she had the shot of antibiotics. I'm still waiting for the call from the Dr. to find out if she did/does have the bacterial blood infection. Hopefully I'll find out today. She wanted to treat Jenna as if she had it, just to be on the safe side. For most of Thursday and Friday, she pretty much laid on our shoulder, and wanted to be carried around, which is not like Jenna at all.
By Saturday Jenna was feeling much better, and started to have more moments of being herself. I think that the nice weather helped. We spent time outside after lunch and before nap time, and again after nap time. There's a new snowman and a snow fort gracing the yard now. Now let's hope that she's on the mend and that spring will show up sooner than the ground hog claims it will :) I think we are all ready to be done with the cold weather & snow!

Dr. Jenna

Here's some pics of Jenna playing Dr......maybe her future profession? We'll see!

Andrew has been enjoying playing with his truck and boat, although Jenna has a tendency to try to run off with one or the other (which never goes over well).

Here's Jenna on 1/21 (19 months old) showing off her new favorite mode of transportation!

Birthdays & the boat show

The 23rd we went to a surprise 30th birthday party for Theresa (one of the church ladies). Theresa was truly surprised which was awesome. It was a "wear what you never get to wear" party, so there were lots of interesting outfits. The guys brought out the letter jackets, and there were a few prom dresses from the 80's. Amy even wore her wedding dress :) It was a ton of fun, and was the perfect type of party for Theresa. Here are a few pics:

Then on Saturday the Ihrkes (including Craig) came up. The boys all headed to the boat show, while the girls hung out. Christy and I thought about shopping with the girls but decided against it. The kids enjoyed cupcakes with Chad for an early b-day celebration.

Look - just like Dad!
And last but not least,

Hotel & Museum

It's been a while since I've posted anything so I've got some catching up to do....

We spent a night at a hotel with the kids (1/18) and then spent the next morning at the children's museum. We thought that the kids may want to swim in the pool, but they weren't very impressed with the cool water, and the older kids that were doing cannon balls. They did enjoy watching the ducks, and running around the hallways. Jenna made us a little nervous when we first got there because every time we brought her into the room she'd start crying....we think she thought it was some sort of Dr.'s office, but she did eventually get over it, and decided it was ok.

Andrew enjoyed watching Wall-e and eating pizza.

Saying good-bye to the ducks

The kids loved the Children's' museum as always. They both got a kick out of the music room. That's where they can stand in front of a blue screen and play 'instruments' and sing to various songs. They have a TV screen facing the kids so from their point of view it looks like they are in a music video.
