Level 1

On our way home, Sunday night Andrew said he was sleepy from having such a busy day, so we told him to close his eyes and try to sleep. A few minutes later we heard "Hey guys, do you think you could take down to a level 1, which means no talking"! Apparently our conversation was keeping him up :)
Today, he had an appointment and it was in a 3 story building. After the appointment, as we were driving out of the parking lot he asked "Were we on the top shelf of that building?"

Fleet Farm

We ran to Fleet Farm on Thursday night to get Sadie some dog food. Jenna got ready all by herself....
Yep, a snow suit and dress shoes.....we got a few puzzled looks, but the suit did come in handy when she fell down while running into the store; it saved her knees from being scrapped up.
Last night she surprised by announcing "I cut my hair". Yep, she did. She had been sitting at the table cutting a piece of paper to shreds while we got supper ready, something she's done a thousand times....and for some reason decided to see if the scissors worked on her hair - they do! It was only a little chunk, and it isn't noticeable, but it could have been way worse. At least she told us!

Escalators & Ice Fishing

Jenna and I went to the airport on Friday to pick Bruce up. Since it was her nap time I thought she would fall asleep on the way to airport, no such luck. She talked the entire way to the airport! The plan had been that I'd just pick Bruce up outside, but since she was awake she wanted to go in the airport. She loved being in the airport and watching all the people, but what she really, truly enjoyed were all the escalators! She'd squeal every time we'd get on one, and her face would light up with a huge smile, it was really cute. After Bruce found us, she 'helped' him with his bag back to the car, and continued to be excited by all the escalators. She was very happy to see her daddy, and even insisted that he put his computer bag on the floor so she could give him a proper Jenna hug, which included setting her head on his shoulder - it was very sweet.

For Valentine's day this year Bruce and I were able to hang out for the day on Saturday, because his parents came up and stayed with the kids all day. It sounded like the kids had fun hanging out with Grandma & Grandpa and really enjoyed their special date for Valentine's day (they went to Wendy's). Bruce and I enjoyed walking around Grand Avenue for the afternoon, and then going out to eat at the Nicollet Island Inn. It was nice to spend the day hanging out, as just the two of us. On Sunday we started the day off with heart shaped pancakes and blueberry muffins. Every one gobbled them up ;) Then later that night Bruce treated us to wild rice stuffed chicken on the grill (it was yummy), and we followed up with ice cream cake for dessert.

Yesterday (President's Day) Andrew had school, but Jenna did not have daycare, so she got to have a Daddy day. When Bruce asked her what she wanted to do, she told him 'ice fishing', so off they went! Here are a few pictures from his phone. It sounds like she did great, and really enjoyed it.
I considered it a successful trip since she didn't fall in the water, or drop anything in it :) He may have a hard time only taking 1 kid the next time he goes out since she's already been asking when she gets to go next!

Sibling Love

Bruce is out on San Diego (for work) so I told the kids that I wanted to take their picture so I could send it to him....here's what they did:
Aren't they adorable?

Balloons

This weekend was Hudson's hot air balloon festival. On Saturday morning we got all bundled up, and headed to the launch site, but the balloons didn't launch. One of the balloonist did fill his balloon & tether it, which the kids enjoyed. After checking out the balloon, we hit the play ground for a while. Later that day the balloons did launch, which was a lot of fun for the kids to see. Andrew remembered going to the festival last year, and also remembered some of the balloons. It was fun to have him ask where certain balloons were.
Here they are in the morning checking out the balloon that tethered as it was filling.
Their reaction when the balloon when upright:
One of the balloons we were next to in the afternoon:
Only a few of the balloons that launched (this was maybe a 1/4 of them):
Here's a picture of Andrew & Jenna's favorite balloon:
After watching all those balloons go up we hit the play ground again:
Later that night they did a moon glow - here's a picture of one of balloons:

We had a good weekend, and enjoyed spending so much time outside. We were glad that the weather was good this year, and that the ballons were able to launch. Overall it was a fun way to spend a Saturday.

Class of 2023

We registered Andrew for Kindergarten yesterday, and they gave us a flyer about the open house dates in April that stated "Welcoming the graduating class of 2023" Wow - 2023....that doesn't seem too far away. Andrew is excited for Kindergarten and typically will ask us when he starts school at least once a week. In the fall we had made the mistake of repeatedly telling him next year, well New Year's day he was asking if he started Kindergarten on Monday (it was next year)....so we had to explain that 1st he needs to finish preschool, then he'll get the summer off to play, then he'll start school. We hope that his enthusiasm about school will continue once he gets there :)

outfit changing

Jenna has a new hobby.....she feels the need to change clothes at least 3 times a day! We'll think she's up in her room getting one of her babies, but comes down 5 minutes later in a completely different outfit! Plus she's apparently really into layering because I don't think she's come down yet, with just one shirt on :) Typically it's a minimum of 2, sometimes 3-4. I'm glad she can get herself dressed, but wish she could help out with laundry ;)
