Field Trip

With the end of the school year brought a flurry of field trips for Andrew's class. (3 trips in 4 weeks!)  Bruce was able to attend one and so was I.  I don't have pictures from the trip Bruce chaperoned, which was to the Heritage Center (think village of yester year), but do have some from their last trip of 1st grade which was to the Children's museum & Como Zoo.
Visiting both the Children's museum & Como Zoo in one day made for a very busy day.

Enjoying the fort on the roof top of the museum

checking out the snakes & turtles

Gorilla! (the dark thing right behind them!)
The zoo keepers had been in the Gorilla habitat hiding lettuce leaves, so we were able to watch the Gorilla's climb all over looking for the leaves, then sitting down to eat it.  It was amazing at how much lettuce they could hold, and how delicately it looked like they were grabbing it while eating.

Flamingos! (and a few ducks & geese)

Baseball

It's baseball time!  With Andrew playing coach pitch and Jenna playing tee ball most nights you'll find us at a baseball diamond. Here are some pictures from one of Andrew's games:
Coach (a.k.a. Bruce) pitching to Andrew
I love this next picture of Andrew, may have to print off in black & white & hang it on the wall.
Swing, batter batter, Swing!

And he's off!
Grandma & Grandpa Fullerton came to this game, and Grandma helped keep Mikey off the field by going for a walk with him.  Thought this was a cute picture of the two of them.
Mike likes anything round, but especially baseballs so Jenna and I spend a lot of time at games keeping him off the field.  When we do give him his own baseball to play with, we then spend most of the game playing catch with him, or warning people that he'll throw the ball at them.
It's hard to believe that the season if almost over already; only 5 games left.  This season seems to be going by very quickly.

Pool time!

Memorial day weekend=time to fill the pool!  The kids were chopping at the bit to get it filled, so that Friday we filled it.  The water was freezing cold, but that didn't stop the kids from wading and playing in it as it filled.

Water fight!

All smiles! (I kept waiting for teeth chattering or blue lips, but it never happened)

Playing
We filled it on Friday and by Sunday they were playing in it.  Water temp was in the low 70's so still pretty chilly, but they didn't seem to notice.

Mikey loved to watch the kids, and enjoyed playing 'catch' with them

Happy Birthday Dad!

After presents & lunch we were off to the River Crest School carnival.  It was packed, but the kids really enjoyed it.  I think we tried out every game/activity they had to offer at least once!

Jenna seeing if she could dunk her future principal (she didn't)
Then it was time for more birthday fun, with a little cake & ice cream.
Then we were all off to bed.....We had to be up early the next day so I could catch a flight to Peurto Rico for work.

Basketball

During one of the nice Saturday's in May we spent some time outside enjoying the sunshine.  Jenna and I played catch with Mikey for a while, but then he got distracted by the grass....it is fun to pick after all.
Jenna decided we should play house outside.  Here she is with her twin babies, which she named butterfly and flower.  She also renamed Mikey to Ducky while playing house.  I really hope when she has kids of her own she names them something a little more mainstream!  I would love to know where she comes up with her names :-)
Then we moved onto basketball (kind of).

Mikey would not give up the basketball, so we used the little soccer ball instead.  Jenna insisted she needed to wear her click clacks....only 1 small blister by the time we were done.
Going in for a shot!

Jump shot!
Afterwards Jenna took a break by sitting in the car; Mikey took the opportunity to attempt to push her across the garage.  I don't know which one thought it was funnier!

Hockey

Andrew played hockey for the 1st time this year and played his last game of the year in early May.  He really liked playing hockey, and did a great job.  It was amazing to see how much he improved over the course of the season.  I'm pretty sure we'll have 2 hockey players next year, since Jenna seems to be very interested in joining her big brother on the ice.  Here are some pictures from his last game:
