Little helper

Mikey has been quite the little helper lately....he 'helps' with all kinds of things.  His favorite seems to be 'helping' with the dishwasher.  (see above for his idea of help) He's also great at emptying clothes baskets out, and hiding objects under the couches (remotes being one of his favorite things to hide).

Roller blades

While bike shopping, we found roller blades for the kids.  Since they both liked ice skating so much, we thought we'd see how they liked rollerblading.  They love it!

All geared up & ready to go!
look at them go!
Not long after getting the roller blades, after getting home from gymnastics Jenna decided to go rollerblading....this is what she looked like:
Future roller derby girl?
Every time I see this picture of her it cracks me up.  I can just see her in  15 years being a roller derby girl....watch out world - here she comes!

New bikes

With all the warm weather that March brought us, the kids had their bikes out a lot.  After seeing them on their bikes, they both looked like giants compared to the bikes, so the Easter bunny decided to bring them new bikes.  Since bikes are pretty big, and they wouldn't really fit in his Easter wagon/basket; he sent Mom & Dad a message letting them know to pick up the bikes for him....what a smart bunny!
So part of spring break was spent bike shopping.  After what felt like way too many stores, we finally found 2 bikes everyone liked (at different stores of course!).

Andrew loves his new 'gear' bike (as he calls it), and Jenna loves her new bike too.  She quickly figured out that with white tires, if she slams on the brakes, not only is it fun to skid, but she leaves big white streaks on the driveway.

Spring Break!

We went to the Kalahari again this year for spring break, and once again had a blast.  The kids really like it there, and love all the fun stuff they have to offer.  We even got to hang out with the Stampf family while trying out the bowling ally.  The kids enjoyed seeing M & B, and Bruce & I enjoyed catching up with Cori & Jeff.  I wasn't sure how Mikey was going to do with bowling, but he didn't seem to mind the noise (he took a nap for part of it), and when not sleeping, enjoyed hanging out on the floor pushing a bowling ball around.  Here are some pictures from this year's stay:

Mikey loved holding a golf club while we played mini golf....even threw a tantrum when we had to take the club away after every game (and we played several times).

Not to be outdone by big brother, Jenna did the flo-rider too! (she did great!)

New Rider

With the amazingly warm weather we had on St. Patrick's day we spent most of our day outside playing.  The truck came out, and Mikey was very interested in it....so of course we let him go for a ride!  He loved it!!!  Especially the buttons he could push that had lights (the battery indicator) & radio.  Jenna was grinning from ear to ear as she drove him around too :-)
Here comes trouble!

Picking up branches that Dad trimmed....aren't they cute?

1st grade concert

The theme for Andrew's 1st grade concert was "Food Fight".  It was based on the book "Food Fight" in which the food in the refrigerator gets out while you are sleeping and a food fight takes place.  The kids were supposed to dress up like food or wear bright colors.....so Andrew was an apple!  He also had a speaking part, which was really cool (he was really excited about it).  He did a fabulous job; very clear and easy to understand.
Andrew Apple :-)
Mikey and Jenna both enjoyed clapping for the kids :-)
Here are all the 1st graders - great show kids!
